Inspired by the stories, memories and adventures of yesteryear, we set out to create a bike that would recall these simpler times while leveraging the best of 21st century tech. With the Cairn E-Adventure Limited Rambler Edition, we created a light, fast and versatile gravel e-bike, born to explore and designed to open the door to adventures anywhere.

With a pinch of inspiration from its big brother, the Cairn BRAVe, and a splash of the ‘Lower, Longer, Slacker’ geometry learnings that have made modern mountain bikes infinitely more capable, we created a bike that captures the adventurous spirit of gravel riding—the ability to jump on the bike and ride to far flung places and vistas.

For the Limited Rambler Edition, we continue our partnership with Fazua, offering excellent range that is further bolstered by our Range Extension pack, giving riders the ability to carry multiple batteries for truly off-grid adventures.

We have also teamed up with Campagnolo, utilizing the brand-new Ekar 13-speed drivetrain. Combining the widest range of any mechanical gravel-specific groupset on the market with the assistance of the Fazua system, the Cairn E-Adventure Limited Rambler Edition lets you hang up those walking boots because the bike is going to take you all the way to the top, climb after climb.

Frame Improvements

Committed to constantly improving bikes for riders at every opportunity, we’ve built on the improvements made to the V2 E-Adventure frame and introduced even more frame refinements in the Limited Rambler Edition.

To allow more flex in the seat post and create a more comfortable ride, we have further shortened the seat tubes, which has the additional benefit of decreasing stand over height of the bikes in all sizes. We have designed a slimmer forged chain stay yoke profile with smaller tube diameters, which increases vertical compliance whilst maintaining lateral stiffness for pedalling. For riders, these improvements reduce leg and knee fatigue.

Last but not least, we have decreased the down tube profile by roughly 25%, which reduces frame weight while also offering a more compliant front triangle, resulting in a softer ride and less hand fatigue for the rider.

 

Introducing Campagnolo Ekar; born on the mountain that gave the groupset its name and with which it shares unmistakable and authentic characteristics. Cima Ekar is a charmingly diverse little gravel paradise in the Venetian Prealps. It’s not the highest peak nor the steepest climb, and it's not a celebrated regularly on the Giro or the other big-name races. Instead, Ekar is a gateway to adventure, offering a test of skill, technique and fitness. The mountain and region begs to be explored with networks of broken roads, single track and trails pointing off in every direction.

The HUNT X Cairn E-Gravel Disc wheels have been developed specifically for the Cairn E-Adventure and feature the same steel axle and increased pawl contact area for a longer lasting hub. Featuring all-new geometry, the Rambler Edition aims to bring the rider more control without taking away the lively and responsive feel we have all come to know and love from the E-Adventure and gravel bikes in general.

The steeper 74-degree seat tube angle allows for better climbing on rough terrain, giving you a more aggressive attacking position whilst maintaining the all-important rear wheel traction. Combined with the slacker 70-degree head angle and increased 75mm trail, descent characteristics are more predictable, stable and comfortable, empowering the rider to let off the brakes and push the bike further.

The lightest and most compact drive system in the industry!

For the E-Adventure Rambler we continued to partner with the amazing team at Fazua with their equally amazing Evation drive system. Its lightweight, integrated and natural pedal feel was exactly what we were looking for to complement our bikes. At only 4.6kg for the full system its helps to create a really lightweight ebike, furthermore the system has no mechanical resistance if not in use, so if the worst happens and you run out of battery it wont feel like riding a heavy bike through treacle like some other system. The battery its self though is just over 1kg and with the Cairn keg and cage you can easily carry another battery to further your exploration.

Ride 50 Street Drivepack and BB

All New Ride 50 Street Drivepack and BB from Fazua features refinements that take the base set by the Evation system to the next level. The new Drivepack features increased torque output, now putting out up to 58nm of torque, helping tackle those technical or steep climbs. New cooling fins are present to manage system temperature and gone is the bolted drivepack USB cover.

The Ride 50 Street BB unit sees the biggest changes, with new torque and cadence sensors increasing the sensitivity of the unit by 70%. This will allow the system to further smooth out that natural ride feel that the Fazua System has become known for. Almost a by-product of this additional data, it makes the Fazua system nearly 10% more efficient!

Energy 250x

The Energy 250x battery brings the final flourish of details to the build. The 250x offers the capability to turn your bike on and off from the Remote FX. No more dropping the Drive pack out to turn the system on and off.

A new cap on the charging port adds a nice touch and reduces maintenance in the future.

Suspension Compatibility

The Limited Rambler Edition is the first Cairn E-Adventure to be Suspension Compatible. The additional changes we have made to geometry and frame design made this possible. If you ever do decide to add a suspension fork to your E-Adventure, we would like to make some recommendations based on our own testing:

We understand that buying a new e-bike is a big decision. To help you with that, we are so confident that you'll be happy with your Cairn E-bike, that we offer a full 60 days to ride it. If at any point during these 60 days you wish to return it for a full refund (or a product swap) please email explore@cairncycles.com, or call us on the phone number at the foot of our website. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund on any item that has suffered severe or crash damage within this period. However, we do offer a crash replacement discount scheme, so please contact us via email or phone and we will help.

Warranty

Cairn Cycles warranty is only valid if it is purchased through Cairn Cycles or an authorised dealer. The warranty is void if your Cairn bicycle was not purchased direct or with an un-authorised dealer, if you are not the original owner, or it has been subject to non-normal use. Non-normal use conditions mean the bike has been subjected to tricks, stunts, skate parks, pump tracks, ramps, bike parks, north shore style, trials riding, commercial or hire activities. All riding should be done within the intended use of the bicycle, see intended uses page for more details. Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, abuse, neglect, improper assembly or maintenance as well as crash damage or non-original parts.

Complete Bicycle

All bikes will have a 1-year complete bicycle warranty, as long as the bicycle was purchase from Cairn Cycles direct or an authorised dealer. This will cover any defective materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This will be subject to condition and use within the intended us guidelines.

Frame

All Cairn Cycles frames will be covered for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the original owner. Subject to normal and intended use, regular maintenance and inspection by Cairn Cycles.

Fork

All Cairn Cycles forks (for suspension fork warranty please see the manufactures website or manual) will be covered for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase to the original owner. Subject to normal and intended use, regular maintenance and inspection by Cairn Cycles.

Wheels

All Hunt Bike Wheels are provided with a 3-year warranty against material or workmanship defects. The warranty period runs from the purchase date. For more information visit our help pages

Wind tunnel developed, features disc-specific, unidirectional T24/30 rims, offering 22.5mm internal and 35mm external widths, and a 48mm u-shape aero profile.

PATENTED LIMITLESS TECHNOLOGY

In order to create the most aerodynamic & stable shape for the tyre, a rim bed of 22.5mm is needed. With the tyre profile this creates, the ideal shape of the rim curves out to an external width of 35mm. To overcome the weight penalty associated with this, we use a (non-structural) low density expanding polymer insert, inside a channel carved out during pre-preg.

This is bonded to the carbon during the curing process, resulting in an exceptionally strong bond. The density of carbon is 1.6g per cubic centimetre, whereas the polymer insert weighs just 0.7g per cubic centimetre, resulting in a (rotational) mass loss of just over 50g per rim. This patented technology enables us to consider the limits of material properties, and smash right past them.

At only 4.6kg for the full system its helps to create a really lightweight ebike, furthermore the system has no mechanical resistance if not in use, so if the worst happens and you run out of battery it wont feel like riding a heavy bike through treacle like some other system. The battery its self though is just over 1kg and with the Cairn keg and cage you can easily carry another battery to further your exploration.

SIZING & GEOMETRY

Suspension Compatibility

The Limited Rambler Edition is the first Cairn E-Adventure to be Suspension Compatible. The additional changes we have made to geometry and frame design made this possible. If you ever do decide to add a suspension fork to your E-Adventure, we would like to make some recommendations based on our own testing:

  • 30-40mm of Travel
  • 40-45mm Offset
  • 700 x 45c or larger tyre
  • If possible, upgrade to a larger front 180mm rotor
  • 12 x 100mm spacing (keeps compatibility with stock wheel)

Find The Perfect Size

Finding the right size for your bike is crucial. Whilst every individual will have a slightly different bike fit preference, we strongly advise you to check the size chart below. Feedback from our customers states that it is a very good fit guide.

60-Day Ride Guarantee

We understand that buying a new e-bike is a big decision. To help you with that, we are so confident that you'll be happy with your Cairn E-bike, that we offer a full 60 days to ride it. If at any point during these 60 days you wish to return it for a full refund (or a product swap) please email explore@cairncycles.com, or call us on the phone number at the foot of our website. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund on any item that has suffered severe or crash damage within this period. However, we do offer a crash replacement discount scheme, so please contact us via email or phone and we will help.

Warranty

Cairn Cycles warranty is only valid if it is purchased through Cairn Cycles or an authorised dealer. The warranty is void if your Cairn bicycle was not purchased direct or with an un-authorised dealer, if you are not the original owner, or it has been subject to non-normal use. Non-normal use conditions mean the bike has been subjected to tricks, stunts, skate parks, pump tracks, ramps, bike parks, north shore style, trials riding, commercial or hire activities. All riding should be done within the intended use of the bicycle, see intended uses page for more details. Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, abuse, neglect, improper assembly or maintenance as well as crash damage or non-original parts.

Complete Bicycle

All bikes will have a 1-year complete bicycle warranty, as long as the bicycle was purchase from Cairn Cycles direct or an authorised dealer. This will cover any defective materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This will be subject to condition and use within the intended us guidelines.

Frame

All Cairn Cycles frames will be covered for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the original owner. Subject to normal and intended use, regular maintenance and inspection by Cairn Cycles.

Fork

All Cairn Cycles forks (for suspension fork warranty please see the manufactures website or manual) will be covered for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase to the original owner. Subject to normal and intended use, regular maintenance and inspection by Cairn Cycles.

Wheels

All Hunt Bike Wheels are provided with a 3-year warranty against material or workmanship defects. The warranty period runs from the purchase date. For more information visit help.huntbikewheels.com/support/home

Components

The individual components of your bicycle will have a warranty period as well, which is specific to the manufacture or the component. These will be either outlined in the provided manuals at point of purchase or the details can be found on the manufacturers

If you choose to put down a deposit, we will contact you a few days before the bike arrives so you can pay the remaining amount.
